Umbrello Tabs and KDM Themes

jriddell's picture

Last night I made Umbrello use tabs for it's diagrams. KTabWidget does the job but it misses the nice feauture that Konqueror and Akregator have which is shrinking tabs to fit available width. It would be nice if this feature was in KTabWidget directly.

In other news KDM has got support for GDM themes. Uga and Ossi have done a great job on this which is one of the oldest open beasties and has over 1000 votes. Still plenty to fix, not all the feature exist yet but it looks lovely. First post!

missing names in merits ;)

Please notice that after I wrote part of what's in kdm themes right now, eros (Enrico) and coolo have done a very good job fixing it, rewriting big parts and adding the missing svg part. And ossi too, of course, but you already mentioned that.

Shrinking Tabs

Wow, it looks like I'm not the only one that's noticed this. Because of this lack in the KTabBar, Kopete is almost unusable as e.g. an IRC client, because with more than six tabs in a dialog it suddenly becomes impossible to track which channels people are talking in, as the tabs are not readily visible, so I say good plan Smiling
Also, I absolutely second that the eye-candiness of the KDM helps KDE along the way to owning the desktop... Let's face it, users like eye-candy, and if something like this is just as good, feature-wise as the non-eye-candied version we had before, I say go Laughing out loud
