KDE 4.0.4, Codenamed Out-Of-Stuff-To-Tell

beineri's picture

The usual monthly game: a new KDE bugfix release, openSUSE packages and a new Live-CD which as already said looks more and more less like KDE 4.0 but like our openSUSE 11.0 KDE4 desktop (while still being based on openSUSE 10.3):

KDE Four Live 1.0.4

Creativity

Now we have this great new and modern look and endless possibilities to style, especially the panel, and what do the SuSE folks do? ... The recreate the old, shopworn KDE3 look, including the not exactly pretty panel ... That's what I call creativity Sticking out tongue Come on SuSE, you can do better!

Can I bet that you of course

Can I bet that you of course don't know a single person that didn't like the "black theme"? Smiling

ouch.

Hm... ugly screenshot. I don't like that you have that blue frame again around the windows. Going back to looking kiddie-like? Hope the normal windeco will be delviered as well.

It's the "normal" windeco

It's the "normal" windeco with an option to make the title bar distinguishable enabled by default. Smiling

KDE4.1 Unstable and Factory

I was wondering why the factory unstable tree of kde4 very often isn't up to date?

Thanks!

Likely because new updates

Likely because new updates gets checked in faster into the build service than it finish to rebuild.

Re: KDE4.1 Unstable and Factory

(Disclaimer: I'm not an openSUSE packager, I am a packager though (for Fedora), take my answer with a grain of salt.)

Because the packagers have more important things to do than updating their packages every week? Updating packages takes time, time which they are probably supposed to spend on making KDE 4.0.x work well in 11.0, not on building weekly snapshots for the impatient. Eye-wink
